Our Founding Story
The organisation was inspired by Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi when she said that we need to be teaching young girls leadership and that women must not be hesitant to take up space.
It has often been said that luck (success) is when opportunity meets preparation. Despite research showing that there are few women leaders, there are still corners of the world affording women the opportunity to lead, and they are slowly increasing every single day.
It became essential to launch capacity-building programs for adolescent girls and young womxn to prepare for these opportunities. Despite these bleak figures, there needs to be affordable organisations that prepare the next generation of young female leaders, and thus Girleada was born.

Organisation Value
AUTHENTICITY
Girleada has only one organisation value - authenticity.
Authenticity according to Brene Brown:
Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are. Choosing authenticity means cultivating the courage to be imperfect, to set boundaries, and to allow ourselves to be vulnerable; exercising the compassion that comes from knowing that we are all made of strength and struggle; and nurturing the connection and sense of belonging that can only happen when we believe that we are enough.
